HELP Advocates Sri Lanka works on behalf of all the innocent civilians in Sri Lanka who are victims of the country’s decades-long cycle of violent conflict and oppression.
We are a U.S.-based grassroots advocacy organization committed to promoting and protecting Human rights, Equality and Lasting Peace in Sri Lanka.
Our mission is to:
- Raise awareness among U.S. policymakers and the general public of the deadly conflict and rampant under-exposed human rights abuses in Sri Lanka;
- Galvanize a multi-ethnic community of individuals and like-minded non-profit, advocacy and humanitarian organizations to advocate for urgent action to bring peace to Sri Lanka and relief to the suffering of innocent civilians;
- Urge policymakers to adopt responsible foreign policy and implement effective legislation that will compel parties to the conflict to uphold human rights, abide by international humanitarian norms, cease hostilities, and negotiate for lasting peace.
HELP Advocates Sri Lanka joins other human rights advocacy organizations in condemning egregious human rights violations by both state and non-state actors.
